I Wear these boots every other time I go out for a trail run or a backpacking trip. They're great shoes! Excellent support, comfort. Not particularly heavy for a boot. Most certainly waterproof. I've hiking in downpours and never have my feet gotten wet. I recently took them on a two day backpacking adventure at Mount Mitchell State Park (6,000+ elevation) and wetness wasn't an issue even though I was in the clouds the entire time. Wet fog, rain and thunderstorms without any issues.Very comfortable from the beginning.
