This is my updated review (and bumped rating from a 4 to a 5): I really like the look of this boot and I liked the idea of the side zip to make getting them on and off quicker. In reality, though, the zipper doesn't open up the boot a whole lot so it's not exactly easy to get in and out using just the zipper but it is possible and that's mainly what I do. Originally I assumed with more wear they would get easier to get into and more comfortable. After several weeks, that is now proven to be true. They definitely need some time to break in; a few weeks seemed good for me. Initially, for probably less than a week, it was a little uncomfortable on my left ankle bone but that has now disappeared. I think it helps that I don't tighten the laces near the top all the way to give the boot a little more flexibility. I keep it fully laced, just not cranked down super tight. I'll probably even start to tighten them more since they're getting more comfortable with wear. They're not quite as comfortable as my Timberland Wodehouse Lost History boot but also not as pricey. For sizing, the boot definitely runs large. For some reason, Timberland calls a EU43 = US9 but most other sizing charts say EU43 is a US10 so I had to return the initial pair because they were a full size too big in US sizing. I've worn them a little in the rain with no problems but it wasn't very heavy so we'll see what happens in time.Conclusion: I dig 'em and I would recommend them to a friend and tell them not to wear them on the same days that I do ;)
